"Pediatric dentistry is about more than cleanings, fillings, and fluoride — it’s about trust, teamwork, and making kids feel like their own superhero in the chair."
I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and in high school had a strong interest in medicine. I shadowed medical doctors and dentists, but was surprisingly captivated by the combination of science and artistry in dentistry and the ability to create beautiful smiles. At eighteen, accompanied by my Dad, I boarded a flight to the U.S. with 2 large suitcases and zero winter coats, excited for a new chapter. I touched down in Lancaster - practically Amish country - where College in Pennsylvania was my crash course in independence - new culture, new friends, and the discovery that oral health can transform lives.
While shadowing at a cleft-palate clinic during a summer internship, I witnessed a little boy see his repaired smile for the very first time. His laughter - and his mom’s tears - solidified my calling to pediatric dentistry. From that day on, every class, clinical rotation, and late-night study session was driven by one goal: to start a practice where I can help kids feel fearless in the dental chair.
Austin’s creative energy initially drew me south (I moonlight as a street photographer and amateur pianist), but Cedar Park won my heart. It’s a fast-growing, family-focused community that still feels like a neighborhood - exactly the kind of place where a joyful, prevention-forward pediatric practice can make a difference.
Dr. Tony’s mission is simple: combine evidence-based care with the warmth and creativity that make kids forget they’re at the dentist. So, that’s how a Kenyan kid, who now gallivants the world with his camera, became a Cedar Park pediatric dentist: bold enough to leave home, caring enough to want to make a difference, and creative enough to build a practice where joy is part of the treatment plan.
Dr. Tony earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his pediatric specialty training at Temple University Hospital. Throughout his training, he learned the science of little teeth and the art of:
He also earned the prestigious Pugh Award for scoring in the top 3% nationally on the pediatric dentistry board exam - it’s safe to say he crushed it!
His motto? If a dental visit feels scary, something is wrong! Dr. Tony’s approach is grounded in:
He partners with parents, cheers on his patients, and celebrates every small win, from sitting still during X-rays to tackling that first wiggly tooth like a champ.
Kids are Dr. Tony’s kind of people: full of curiosity, quick to bounce back, and never afraid to ask, “Do I get a sticker?” He sees every appointment as a chance to help a child feel safe, seen, and proud of their smile, especially if they walk in a little nervous.
Dr. Tony never dismisses fear - he validates it. Whether a child needs a pep talk, a distraction, or just someone to say, “You’ve got this,” he’s there. He realizes that every child is their own kind of awesome, so he reads the room, switches gears, and brings the right kind of magic for each little personality.
